The UK’s Premier AC/DC Tribute Band
POWERAGE are a legendary band up here in the North East of England. The group has been around at least 10 years that I know of and have played some of the most incredible shows ever witnessed in this area. They are unashamedly an AC/DC tribute band, and more importantly a group that prefers to pay homage to the classic 70's version that featured the awesome talents of the late Bon Scott.

Bon passed away in early 1980 and has since become one of those timeless idols to fans of the rock world, in the same way that Marilyn Monroe and James Dean are to fans of the silver screen. Even though AC/DC are still going strong to this very day with vocalist Brian Johnson, it is the 70's version which most fans hold close to their hearts.
Likewise, Shaun O'Brien was a huge admirer of Bon Scott and when the opportunity arose he formed his very own personal tribute to his hero and named it after one of his favourite albums by them. For over a decade now the band have performed all over the U.K, but have mainly concentrated on playing shows in the North East area.
The group in fact split up a few years ago but after a couple of years in the wilderness they reformed at the back end of 2000. Even during their time away from the "live" circuit they were sorely missed, and when the public demanded that they reform then nobody could have expected the newly rejuvenated monster that exploded back onto the scene. The band not only did themselves proud by putting on some breathtaking shows, but pushed the boundaries even further by starting to be acknowledged as probably the greatest AC/DC tribute band in the whole U.K. Powerage have been through a few personnel changes during their career, but this latest incarnation is viewed by many to be the finest ever, and the band still retain the incredibly distinct ( and frightening familiar ) vocal abilities of founder member Shaun O'Brien.
